Benniganahalli metro station

Benniganahalli metro station stands as an elevated metro station on the east-west Purple Line within Bengaluru’s Namma Metro transit system. Its proximity includes the Tin Factory Junction leading towards Baiyappanahalli, the Benniganahalli Lake, and the Tin Factory Bus Stop. This station was made accessible to the public on October 9, 2023, without a formal inauguration event.

Positioned between the Baiyappanahalli station in the west and the Krishnarajapura (KR Pura) station in the east, Benniganahalli plays a crucial role in connecting these points. While Baiyappanahalli, a part of the inaugural phase of the entire Namma Metro system, was inaugurated in 2011, the eastern section of the line from KR Pura to the terminus at Kadugodi saw its inauguration in March 2023. However, Benniganahalli metro station faced delays due to the intricate work involved in installing a girder bridge over railway lines. Trial runs along this stretch commenced on July 27, 2023, and official operations began on October 9, 2023, marked by a virtual inauguration conducted by the prime minister.
