Kalena Agrahara Metro Station — Pink Line, Namma Metro

Kalena Agrahara Metro Station is an elevated station on the Pink Line of Namma Metro in Bengaluru, at Gottigere, Bannerghatta Road. The Pink Line runs 21.25 km from Kalena Agrahara in the south to Nagawara in the north across 18 stations — six elevated along Bannerghatta Road and twelve underground through central Bengaluru, the longest underground stretch on the network. The elevated section through this station was cleared for passenger service on 28 October 2026 and will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 13 November 2026.

Kalena Agrahara is the southern terminus of the Pink Line, in the Gottigere area at the far end of Bannerghatta Road. As the end of the line it will be the boarding point for commuters coming in from Bannerghatta, Gottigere and the layouts south of the Outer Ring Road, most of whom currently drive or take a bus the whole way into the city.

Kalena Agrahara Metro Station Opening Date

The elevated Phase 1 section, six stations from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere, has passed its final safety check. The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) cleared the stretch for passenger service on 28 October 2026. The August inspection had stalled on an independent signalling safety certificate; that hurdle is now behind it. The opening had slipped several times before this: from December 2025, to May 2026, to July 2026, and past a 15 August 2026 target.

What remains is the inauguration. The line opens once the Centre fixes a date, and regular passenger service normally begins the day after. We will update this page with the confirmed date, first and last trains, and fares as soon as BMRCL announces them.

Expected opening: 13 November 2026 (confirmed 3 November). Status verified 31 October 2026.

Until the line opens, the nearest working metro station is Yelachenahalli on the Green Line, about 3.7 km away by straight line, so most people reach it by bus or auto along Bannerghatta Road and Kanakapura Road.

Pink Line Phase 1 timeline

• Dec 2024 — Tunnelling completed. The last of nine tunnel boring machines, Bhadra, broke through at Nagawara.
• Apr–May 2026 — RDSO oscillation and emergency braking distance trials on the elevated section.
• 4 Jun 2026 — RDSO issued the speed certificate after 12 days of oscillation trials. Trains cleared for 90 kmph.
• 14 Aug 2026 — CMRS inspection of the Kalena Agrahara–Tavarekere stretch concluded. Trains and stations passed, but clearance was withheld pending the independent signalling safety assessment certificate.
• 15 Aug 2026 — The target opening date was missed.
• 28 Oct 2026 — CMRS cleared the Kalena Agrahara–Tavarekere elevated section for passenger service.
• Next — Inauguration on 13 November 2026 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who rides from Tavarekere to IIMB-Bilekahalli before services are launched. Passenger service starts after the inauguration.

This is the southern terminus of the Pink Line. The next station is Hulimavu Metro Station. From here the Pink Line will run north along Bannerghatta Road to Tavarekere, and eventually underground through Dairy Circle, Shivajinagar and Cantonment to Nagawara. The Pink Line will interchange with the Yellow Line at Jayadeva Hospital and with the Purple Line at Mahatma Gandhi Road, and Nagawara is planned as a future interchange with the Blue Line towards Kempegowda International Airport.

Bannerghatta National Park lies further south along the same road, beyond the reach of the metro.

Kalena Agrahara Metro Station Timings

First and last train timings for Kalena Agrahara Metro Station have not been published. When services begin, BMRCL has indicated Pink Line trains will run from about 5:30 am to 11:00 pm, with 5 to 7 minute frequencies at peak and 8 to 12 minutes off-peak, matching the Purple and Green Lines. These figures are BMRCL projections and have not been confirmed in a published timetable. We will publish verified per-direction times here once BMRCL releases the timetable.
