Nagawara Metro Station — Interchange Station, Namma Metro

Nagawara Metro Station is an underground interchange station on Namma Metro in Bengaluru, serving the Pink Line, with the Blue Line planned. This station has not yet opened to passengers.

Not opening on 13 November. Only the Pink Line’s six elevated stations, Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere on Bannerghatta Road, open on 13 November 2026, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Nagawara is on the underground section, which is expected around May 2027.

Nagawara will be the northern terminus of the Pink Line, on the Outer Ring Road. The last of the nine tunnel boring machines used on the Pink Line, named Bhadra, broke through here in 2024, completing tunnelling on the corridor.

Changing Lines at Nagawara Metro Station

Nagawara will be the northern terminus of the Pink Line and is planned as the interchange with the Blue Line towards Kempegowda International Airport. Neither line has opened. The Pink Line’s underground Phase 2 section from Dairy Circle to Nagawara is now expected around May 2027 (earlier target December 2026); the Blue Line has no confirmed date. No service runs from this station today.

Getting to the Pink Line from Nagawara today

Until this underground section opens, the nearest working metro station is Baiyappanahalli on the Purple Line, about 6.2 km away. Every route from here to the open Pink Line stations ends the same way: take the Yellow Line to Jayadeva Hospital and change to the Pink Line for Tavarekere, JP Nagar 4th Phase, IIMB-Bilekahalli, Hulimavu and Kalena Agrahara. Use the Pink Line fare and time checker for the fare and journey time from your station.

Namma Metro’s working interchanges today are Nadaprabhu Kempegowda (Majestic) between the Purple and Green Lines, and Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road between the Green and Yellow Lines. Further interchanges are built or planned at Mahatma Gandhi Road (Pink), Jayadeva Hospital (Pink), Central Silk Board (Blue), Nagawara (Blue) and Peenya (Orange), none of which are in service yet.
