Kadugondanahalli Metro Station — Pink Line, Namma Metro

Kadugondanahalli Metro Station is an underground station on the Pink Line of Namma Metro in Bengaluru, at Kadugondanahalli. The Pink Line runs 21.25 km from Kalena Agrahara in the south to Nagawara in the north across 18 stations — six elevated along Bannerghatta Road and twelve underground through central Bengaluru, the longest underground stretch on the network. Only the elevated section opens on 13 November 2026; this underground section has not opened yet.

Not opening on 13 November. Only the Pink Line’s six elevated stations, Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere on Bannerghatta Road, open on 13 November 2026, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kadugondanahalli is on the underground section, which is expected around May 2027.

Formerly named Arabic College, this underground station serves Kadugondanahalli, shortened locally to KG Halli. The renaming means searches for both names lead to the same station, and the older name is still in common use among residents.

Kadugondanahalli Metro Station Opening Date

This station is on the underground Phase 2 section — 13.76 km and twelve stations from Dairy Circle to Nagawara, the longest underground stretch on the Namma Metro network. It is now expected around May 2027 (the earlier target was December 2026). Tunnelling finished in December 2024; track, signalling and platform screen door installation followed, and platform screen doors have been tested at Mahatma Gandhi Road. Treat May 2027 as a target rather than a commitment — the elevated section slipped several times before its 13 November 2026 opening.

Getting to the Pink Line from Kadugondanahalli today

Until this underground section opens, the nearest working metro station is Swami Vivekananda Road on the Purple Line, about 5.6 km away. Every route from here to the open Pink Line stations ends the same way: take the Yellow Line to Jayadeva Hospital and change to the Pink Line for Tavarekere, JP Nagar 4th Phase, IIMB-Bilekahalli, Hulimavu and Kalena Agrahara. The previous station is Venkateshpura Metro Station and the next is Nagawara Metro Station. It is the last stop before Nagawara, the northern terminus of the Pink Line. The Pink Line will interchange with the Yellow Line at Jayadeva Hospital and with the Purple Line at Mahatma Gandhi Road, and Nagawara is planned as a future interchange with the Blue Line towards Kempegowda International Airport.

First and last train timings for Kadugondanahalli Metro Station have not been published. When services begin, BMRCL has indicated Pink Line trains will run from about 5:30 am to 11:00 pm, with 5 to 7 minute frequencies at peak and 8 to 12 minutes off-peak, matching the Purple and Green Lines.
