Looking for the Mysore Road Satellite Bus Station nearest metro? It’s Deepanjali Nagar on the Purple Line just 850 metres away, a 10–13 minute walk. Going to Mysuru, Mandya or anywhere on the Mysuru Road side? You don’t need to fight traffic till Majestic. This guide covers the exact walking route, metro fares and timings from every part of Bengaluru, last-train cutoffs for your return, and the one naming trap that confuses everyone.
The short answer
| Nearest metro station | Deepanjali Nagar (Purple Line) |
| Walk to the bus stand | About 850 m along Mysore Road — 10 to 13 minutes |
| Metro fare from Majestic | ₹30 (6 stops, about 13 minutes) |
| Last metro back towards the city | Around 11:23 PM from Deepanjali Nagar (all days) |
| The trap | Mysuru Road metro station is NOT the nearest — it is 1.7 km from the bus stand despite the name |
Don’t go by the name: Deepanjali Nagar is the nearest metro, not Mysuru Road
This is the part that confuses everyone, so let us clear it first.
There is a Purple Line station called Mysuru Road metro station. The bus stand is called Mysore Road Satellite Bus Station. Naturally, people assume they are next to each other. They are not. The Mysuru Road metro station is about 1.7 km from the bus stand — a 25-minute walk.
The actual nearest station is one stop before it (coming from the city side): Deepanjali Nagar metro station. From here the bus stand is about 850 metres straight along Mysore Road — a 10 to 13 minute walk with luggage.
Walking route from Deepanjali Nagar station
- Exit on the Attiguppe side of the station (Gate B has step-free access — easier with heavy bags).
- Come down to Mysore Road and walk towards the city side (the direction of Attiguppe, away from Nayandahalli junction).
- Keep walking straight on Mysore Road for about 850 m. The Satellite Bus Station is on Mysore Road itself — you cannot miss the rows of KSRTC buses.
If you are carrying very heavy luggage, autos wait outside the station; the hop costs around ₹30–40.
Why board at the Satellite Bus Station instead of Majestic?
Most KSRTC buses heading out of Bengaluru along Mysuru Road — towards Mysuru, Mandya, Maddur, Channapatna, Ramanagara and Srirangapatna, plus many services continuing to Kodagu and Kerala — stop at the Mysore Road Satellite Bus Station a few minutes after leaving Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic).
Boarding here instead of Majestic has real advantages:
- You skip the Majestic crowd. No pushing through the city’s busiest terminal with luggage.
- The bus has already cleared central Bengaluru traffic. You board after the slowest part of the journey.
- The metro drops you 850 m away. From most of the city, the Purple Line gets you here faster than a cab can cross town.
Since the Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway opened, the road journey to Mysuru takes roughly 2 to 2.5 hours — which has made these buses very popular. One note of caution: a few premium non-stop and some private services board only at Majestic or follow different pickup points. Check the boarding point printed on your ticket before you plan around the Satellite Bus Station.

Metro timings at Deepanjali Nagar: first and last trains
These timings are computed from the official BMRCL timetable (verified 31 August 2026). “Towards Challaghatta” is the direction coming from the city (this is the train you take to reach the bus stand); “towards Whitefield” is the direction going back into the city.
| Day | First train arriving from the city side | First train towards the city | Last train towards the city | Last train towards Kengeri/Challaghatta |
|---|---|---|---|---|

Catching an early morning bus? Read this
This is the detail that catches people. From Tuesday to Saturday, the first metro from the city side reaches Deepanjali Nagar only around 6:02 AM. On Sundays it is as late as 8:02 AM. Only on Mondays does service start early (~5:17 AM).
So if your bus leaves the Satellite Bus Station before about 6:30 AM on a weekday — or before 8:30 AM on a Sunday — the metro cannot get you there in time. Book an auto or cab for early departures, or board at Majestic instead if your bus starts there.
Coming back to Bengaluru at night? Plan for 11 PM
If your return bus drops you at the Satellite Bus Station at night, you can still catch the metro home if you reach Deepanjali Nagar by about 11:20 PM (last train towards Majestic/Whitefield is ~11:23 PM, all days). Add the 10–13 minute walk: get off the bus by 11:00 PM to be safe.
One more cutoff: if you need to change to the Green Line at Majestic (for Banashankari, Jayanagar, Yeshwanthpur side), last Green Line connections leave Majestic around 11:20–11:30 PM. Leave Deepanjali Nagar by about 11:00 PM for a comfortable change. After that, it is autos and cabs.
Station directory: Deepanjali Nagar
- Gates: Gate A opens towards the Mysore Road/Kengeri side; Gates B and C open towards the Attiguppe side. Gate B has step-free access.
- Lifts and escalators: available.
- Parking: two-wheeler parking only — about 145 slots. There is no car parking at Deepanjali Nagar.
Planning to park a car and take the bus? The next station, Mysuru Road, has the largest parking on the Purple Line (around 512 car and 1,090 two-wheeler slots) — but remember it is 1.7 km from the bus stand, so you would still need a short auto hop. For most people, two-wheeler at Deepanjali Nagar or simply metro end-to-end works better.
Boarding at Kengeri instead? There is a metro station right at the terminal
Many Mysuru-side buses make one more pickup at Kengeri after the Satellite Bus Station. If you live in west Bengaluru — Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Jnanabharathi, Pattanagere side — it may be easier to board there: the Kengeri Bus Terminal metro station is located right at the Kengeri TTMC, no long walk needed.
Again, not every service stops at Kengeri — confirm the boarding point on your ticket or with KSRTC before relying on it.
Practical tips
- Buy a return token or use a smart card/QR — the token queue at Deepanjali Nagar is short, but on festival weekends everything is crowded.
- Peak-hour note: trains towards the city are packed 8–10 AM, and trains out of the city 5–8 PM. With big luggage, the ends of the train are usually easier.
- Festival rush: before long weekends and festivals like Deepavali and Dasara, KSRTC runs extra buses from the Satellite Bus Station and metro crowds peak — reach 20–30 minutes earlier than usual.
- Night arrival backup: if you miss the last metro, autos wait on Mysore Road outside the bus stand; prepaid apps work normally here.
- Check our complete Namma Metro timings guide for first/last trains across every line, including Monday and Sunday quirks.
