Vidhana Soudha Metro Station — Purple Line, Namma Metro

Vidhana Soudha Metro Station is an underground station on the Purple Line of Namma Metro in Bengaluru, at Vidhana Soudha. The Purple Line is the network’s east-west corridor, running 43.49 km from Whitefield in the north-east to Challaghatta in the south-west across 37 stations. It is the oldest line on the network: its first section opened on 20 October 2011. Vidhana Soudha Metro Station opened on 2016-04-30.

The station is officially Dr B R Ambedkar Station, this underground station serves Vidhana Soudha, the Karnataka state legislature, and the surrounding government quarter.

The station has two platforms. Platform 1 serves trains towards Whitefield; Platform 2 serves trains towards Challaghatta. The Purple Line interchanges with the Green Line at Nadaprabhu Kempegowda (Majestic), from where you can reach Jayanagar, Silk Institute and Madavara, and connect onward to the Yellow Line at Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road for Electronic City. Mahatma Gandhi Road is the planned interchange with the Pink Line.

The station has 5 entry and exit points: Gate A — Towards Vidhana Soudha side or towards Indian Express (Bangalore); Gate B — Towards High Court of Karnataka side; Gate C — Towards High Court of Karnataka side; Gate D — owards Vidhana Soudha side or towards Reserve Bank of India (Bangalore) or towards Cubbon Park side; Gate E — Towards Vikasa Soudha side.

Vidhana Soudha Metro Station Timings

Purple Line services start at 04:15 on Mondays and 05:00 from Tuesday to Saturday, and at 07:00 on Sundays. The last train leaves Whitefield at 22:45 and Challaghatta at 23:05. Trains run every 8 minutes at peak and 10 to 15 minutes off peak. BMRCL notes that additional trains may be run from selected intermediate stations when travel demand rises, and that train times can change for planned works.
