About the Pink Line

North-South Metro Connectivity in Bengaluru The Bengaluru Metro Pink Line is one of the most significant upcoming corridors of the Namma Metro network, developed by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) under Phase 2 of the metro expansion project. Designed to improve north-south connectivity across Bengaluru, the Pink Line will connect Kalena Agrahara in South Bengaluru with Nagawara in North Bengaluru. Route Length and Stations Spanning approximately 21.25 km, the Pink Line will feature 18 metro stations, comprising both elevated and underground sections. Once operational, the corridor will provide faster, more efficient travel across the city while reducing traffic congestion and travel times for daily commuters. Areas Covered by the Pink Line The Pink Line will pass through several key residential, commercial, educational, and healthcare hubs, including: Hulimavu IIM Bangalore JP Nagar 4th Phase Jayadeva Hospital Tavarekere Dairy Circle Lakkasandra Langford Town MG Road Shivajinagar Cantonment Pottery Town Tannery Road Venkateshpura Kadugondanahalli (KG Halli) Nagawara These stations will improve connectivity to major destinations across Bengaluru and support seamless urban mobility. Interchange Stations on the Pink Line One of the key advantages of the Bengaluru Metro Pink Line is its connectivity with other metro corridors through major interchange stations: Jayadeva Hospital Metro Station – Interchange with the Yellow Line MG Road Metro Station – Interchange with the Purple Line Nagawara Metro Station – Interchange with the Blue Line (Airport Metro) These interchanges will enable passengers to travel across the Bengaluru Metro network with ease. Elevated and Underground Sections The Pink Line consists of a combination of elevated and underground infrastructure. The section from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere is elevated. The section from Dairy Circle to Nagawara is underground. This hybrid design helps optimize metro connectivity through densely populated urban areas while minimizing disruption to existing road networks. Importance of the Bengaluru Metro Pink Line Upon completion, the Pink Line is expected to become one of the most important metro corridors in Bengaluru. The line will enhance access to educational institutions, hospitals, government offices, business districts, railway stations, and residential neighborhoods across the city. By improving public transport accessibility and reducing dependence on private vehicles, the Bengaluru Metro Pink Line will play a crucial role in creating a faster, more sustainable, and better-connected Bengaluru.
